A demonstration...

LOUISA GOULIAMAKI/AFP

A young cyclist is seen among a crowd of between 1,000 and 2,000 Athenians who took part yesterday in a demonstration to demand better conditions for cyclists and the right to take their bicycles on public transport. The cyclists want the construction of bicycle lanes between the city center and the southern coast of Athens. There were similar protests in other cities, including Thessaloniki, where some 500 people took part.
