Tourists attempt...

MARIA MAROYIANNI/ANA

Tourists attempt to refresh themselves yesterday afternoon at the fountain in Syntagma Square, central Athens, as the temperature in the city reached 37 Celsius (99 Fahrenheit) with more than 50 percent humidity. There were no major problems reported in the capital as many Athenians had already left the city on summer vacation. The heat in Athens is expected to ease slightly today as the temperature is forecast to reach a maximum of 35C (95F).
