Greece’s Eleni Daniilidou...

REUTERS

Greece’s Eleni Daniilidou serves against Jelena Dokic in the quarterfinals of the Paris Indoor Open yesterday. Eighth-seeded Daniilidou, 20, beat fourth-seeded Dokic 6-1, 6-3, and plays in today’s semifinals against the USA’s top-seeded Serena Williams, to whom she lost in the fourth round of the Australian Open last month. It was their first encounter. Daniilidou is 18th in the world rankings, following a rocket-like rise in the past two years.
