ATHANASIOS OUZOUNIS/ANA

A group called the Greek Social Forum took over the offices belonging to the main state social security fund IKA in Thessaloniki yesterday and hung up a banner in protest at recent labor reforms passed by the conservative government. The group will join forces with GSEE, Greece’s largest umbrella union, and ADEDY, the civil servants’ union, for more protest action at the Thessaloniki International Fair starting this evening. Some 3,000 police have been called to the city to help protect the country’s largest trade fair.
