A worker walks...

THANASSIS STAVRAKIS/AP

A worker walks past the Athens Olympic Stadium yesterday. The stadium’s glass-and-steel roof, designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, was completely safe, Alternate Culture Minister Fanni Palli-Petralia reiterated yesterday, even though she also admitted to ongoing repair work to strengthen the 17,000-ton structure. She said some parts of the 244-million-euro roof were being welded or strengthened.
