Protesting street market traders...

Giorgos Fotiadis/ANA

Protesting street market traders yesterday staged a march through Thessaloniki, blocking off several roads and causing traffic tie-ups. Traders are objecting to plans by the municipality to move the Rotonda district’s open-air market to the town’s western outskirts. The traders submitted a petition with their demands to Thessaloniki Mayor Vassilis Papageorgopoulos.
