After 42 km, Marathon decided on finish line

Kenyan Nicholas Paul Lekuraa (r) edges out compatriots Julius Seurei Kiprotich (l) and Paul Kogo to win the Athens Classic Marathon yesterday in a record time of 2 hours, 12 minutes, 42 seconds. Japan’s Mai Tagami won the women’s race in 2:36:58. A 60-year-old man died from heart failure while taking part in the 10-km race.
