Thessaloniki Prefect Panayiotis Psomiadis is pictured at the city’s Makedonia Airport, joining a group of local dancers for an event marking the launch of the tourist season. Food and drink was laid out for passers-by and tourists who joined in the revelry. Psomiadis entreated tourists from Great Britain and Russia to join him in dancing during the event, which was also attended by the city’s mayor, Vassilis Papageorgopoulos. The event is to be held every year to mark the official start of the tourist season.
