Greek President Karolos Papoulias (r) met with the leader of the right-wing Popular Orthodox Rally (LAOS), Giorgos Karadzaferis, at the Presidential Palace yesterday to discuss ‘national issues.’ It was a rare meeting between two men from opposite ends of the political spectrum. Karadzaferis, who is also an MP in the European Parliament, is a candidate for mayor of Thessaloniki but is not expected to win in Sunday’s election.
