Web date ends in rape charge

A 28-year-old man who met an underage teenage girl on the Internet has been arrested after allegedly raping her on different occasions and posting photos of her on the Web, police said on Saturday.

The man, whose identity has not been released, started sending the 15-year-old girl messages in October when they first met online, police said.

The two then met up in November when the man is said to have driven her to a remote part of Athens and raped her.

Police said that they subsequently met up on four separate occasions at an Athens hotel, under the threat of violence, according to the girl, where the man is accused of forcing her to have sex with him.

The suspect has been charged with rape, bodily harm and breaching personal data protection laws by placing photos her on the Net without her permission.
