KATERINA MAVRONA/ANA

Members of the National Association of Disabled Persons (ESAEA), along with teaching groups, demonstrated outside the Education Ministry in central Athens yesterday, demanding the government increase the number of teachers who are employed to assist students with special needs. Deputy Education Minister Giorgos Kalos met with the protesters and told them that the government intends to hire a total of 180 staff members to help with the needs of disabled people.
