Factory fire leaves a mangled mess

EUROKINISSI

A fireman walks amid the remnants of a fruit-canning factory in Veria, northern Greece, which caught fire yesterday. The Venus factory is located next to Veria’s train station. The scale of the blaze meant that firefighters had to be called in from Thessaloniki and other prefectures to help put it out. There were no reports of injuries but the building suffered extensive damage. It was not immediately clear what caused the fire.
