Elderly Greek-Cypriot women from the Rizokarpasso enclave in Turkish-occupied northern Cyprus wait for the weekly United Nations food handout yesterday. On Sunday, Turkish Cypriots are to elect a successor to veteran leader Rauf Denktash, 81, who uses the title of 'president' of the occupied territories. Mehmet Ali Talat, a moderate who won February's vote for the house of representatives, is a leading contender for the post.
