PASOK leader George Papandreou speaks to OTE telcom workers at the company’s headquarters in Maroussi yesterday. Papandreou labeled the planned sale of just under 20 percent of the company’s shares by Marfin Investment Group (MIG) to German firm Deutsche Telekom ‘a huge scandal.’ The issue is due to be debated in Parliament tomorrow, but Papandreou was scathing in his attack on the government. ‘Not even in a Third World country would we see public wealth sold for the benefit of an investor, not even the state,’ he said.
