Prime Minister Costas Simitis to visit the beach volleyball Olympic center in Neo Faliron and the Olympic sailing center in Aghios Cosmas. He will be accompanied by Culture Minister Evangelos Venizelos, Environment Minister Vasso Papandreou and President of the Athens 2004 organizing committee Gianna Angelopoulos-Daskalaki. In the afternoon, he is to meet with the chairman of the IOC’s Coordination Commission for Athens, Denis Oswald.

Archbishop Christodoulos, on an official visit to the Orthodox Church of Poland, is to meet with Metropolitan Savvas of Warsaw and All Poland, Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski and Cardinal Josef Glemp. To Friday.

Prime Minister Costas Simitis makes a two-day visit to Karakohori in the western Peloponnesian prefecture of Ileia, where he has a family home.

The November 17 terrorist group trial to resume in a special courtroom inside Athens’s Korydallos Prison after an 11-day summer break. Defendant Theologos Psaradellis is to testify. Psaradellis has only admitted to participation in a 1983 bank heist — from which he was denied his cut.

Finance Minister Nikos Christodoulakis to attend the World Cretan Congress in Crete. Foreign Minister George Papandreou and Athens Mayor Dora Bakoyianni will be the keynote speakers. To Sunday.

Ecumenical Patriarch Vartholomaios visits the island of Zakynthos.
