A reveler dances in front of a giant clock during a parade yesterday in the northwestern Peloponnesian town of Patras to mark the official opening of the annual Carnival celebrations. The Patras Carnival — Greece’s oldest and most popular — culminates with a parade of floats and groups of revelers through the town’s main streets.
