The woman at the center of the Zachopoulos scandal, Evi Tsekou, is set to be questioned today by a magistrate after yesterday’s scheduled deposition was postponed due to bad weather.

Tsekou, the former assistant of Culture Ministry former general secretary Christos Zachopoulos, is expected to confirm that the two were having an affair but deny that she made a DVD of the couple having sex which she tried to sell to journalists.

Sources said that Tsekou, who has been kept in custody since December, has prepared a 40-page written statement that she is expected to hand to magistrate Dimitris Economou today. In it, Tsekou will claim that she presented journalists with a videotape, not the DVD that was handed by Yiannis Andrianos, the head of the prime minister’s press office, to magistrates after Zachopoulos’s attempted suicide.

Tsekou will allegedly claim that the videotape was stolen from her.

The former Culture Ministry employee has been accused of blackmailing Zachopoulos and breaching his privacy rights.
