Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that took place yesterday in Voula, southern Athens, in which a parked Land Rover was shot at 15 times.

No one was hurt in the shooting spree that took place around 10 a.m.

Police said two men were seen approaching the parked vehicle in an Opel Corsa when one of them started firing at the car with a Kalashnikov rifle.

The sport utility vehicle was actually hit five times, while a nearby house was also struck by a stray bullet, police added. As the assailants sped away from the scene they threw the weapon out the the car window.

Police are checking the gun for fingerprints.

Police said the owner of the Land Rover, aged 41, owns a security company. He had parked his car in Voula where he was visiting his mother.
