Olympiakos wins double

Olympiakos secured the club's 13th league-and-cup triumph with a 2-0 win over Aris in Saturday's cup final.

Though Aris enjoyed sturdy ball possession in the first half hour, the Thessaloniki side was unable to threaten Olympiakos. The Piraeus team scored a goal in each half, both headers, from Darko Kovasevic, in the 33rd minute, and Michal Zewlakow, in the 53rd, for its victory.

Twelve fans were arrested for incidents before, during and after the game, and one lightly injured Aris fan was hospitalized, police reports said.

Olympiakos coach Jose Segura, who took over as interim coach after Takis Lemonis was sacked well into the season, announced his departure following the game. The Spaniard cited personal reasons. Despite rumors, Aris coach Dusan Bajevic denied having received an offer from Panathinaikos.
