Soldier beats woman dead

A soldier was arrested in Corinth yesterday in connection with the vicious killing of a 22-year-old woman, police said, in which he allegedly kicked and beat her to death after she turned down his sexual advances.

The soldier was at a cafeteria with a fellow conscript when he followed into the toilets one of the three woman the two men had met on Monday evening.

Police said that he started to kick and punch the woman after she refused to kiss him, until the victim fell to the ground. The two men then returned to the military base, leaving the body in the toilet.

Police conducted a search for the two soldiers at the local military base. The suspects were identified by the two women who had accompanied the victim.

The main suspect allegedly confessed to police while the second was arrested for harboring a criminal.
