Ecumenical Patriarch Vartholomaios, the spiritual leader of Orthodox Christians, addresses a gathering in Athens yesterday after finishing an eight-day official tour of northern Greece. Vartholomaios, who is based in Istanbul, is due to meet with Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis today before attending a lunch given by Archbishop Christodoulos, the head of the Church of Greece.
