The first phase of regeneration work...

NIKOS ARVANITIDIS/ANA-MNA

The first phase of regeneration work around the White Tower in Thessaloniki has been completed, authorities said yesterday. The project includes the laying of paving stones, new lighting and the planting of 36 trees around the city landmark. The next phase will include putting the tower’s newly uncovered fortifications on display. It is one of five projects planned to regenerate the city’s 5.5-kilometer seafront between the Concert Hall and the harbor. The work will take three years.
