A lieutenant of the Presidential Guard inspects and prepares the corps to appear before President Karolos Papoulias and his Czech counterpart Vaclav Klaus during his two-day visit to Athens. Klaus was awarded an honorary doctorate in economics by Athens University. Students, however, demonstrated outside the campus during the ceremony, protesting the Czech Republic’s decision to ban the Communist Youth Union.
