Health Minister Nikitas Kaklamanis arrives...

MARIA MAROYANNI/ANA

Health Minister Nikitas Kaklamanis arrives at a New Democracy Political Council meeting yesterday chaired by Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis. The meeting’s agenda included upcoming revisions to the Constitution and discussions on the municipal elections scheduled to take place in October. Sources said that Karamanlis has agreed to allow Kaklamanis to stand as a candidate for Athens mayor to replace Dora Bakoyannis but will announce the news at a later date. Bakoyannis, one of New Democracy’s most popular figures, is expected to enter the Cabinet after a reshuffle. Government sources were tightlipped about the date of a possible reshuffle.
