A Franciscan priest burns incense in the Grotto of the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem yesterday, where large numbers of Christians are expected for tomorrow’s Christmas service. Yesterday, Church of Greece leader Archbishop Christodoulos warned that Christmas was in danger of becoming ‘a plundered fairy tale, just to ensure market turnover and entertainment.’
