South African President Thabo Mbeki and Greek President Costis Stephanopoulos inspecting the Presidential Guard in Athens yesterday. Mbeki began a three-day visit by calling on the European Union to do more to help African countries fight poverty. He also met with Communist Party and Left Coalition leaders Aleka Papariga and Alekos Alavanos. Today he will hold talks with PM Costas Karamanlis.
