Arrest leaves serial flasher badly exposed

A 63-year-old man who allegedly exposed himself and verbally abused at least 25 schoolchildren in Athens’s southern suburbs over the last two months has been arrested, police said yesterday.

The unnamed father of three and grandfather of two was caught after a series of complaints from parents, schoolteachers and local officials in Ilioupolis, Argyroupolis, Palaio Faliron and Hellenikon. He would allegedly park his car outside primary schools in these areas and then follow schoolchildren as they left the school premises. The suspect would expose himself to the children or ask them to join him in the car. He often swore at the young boys and girls who refused to get into the vehicle.

Police said the 63-year-old is known to them for other offenses, including fraud, theft and human trafficking. He is now being investigated for other crimes.
