Son kills his ‘abusive’ dad

A 19-year-old man from Nikaia, near Piraeus, is due to appear in court today for allegedly stabbing his 54-year-old father to death after claiming the older man was abusive and drove his mother to starving herself to death, police said.

The unnamed teenager was arrested late on Friday after he called the police and told them that he had grabbed a knife and stabbed his father during a fight at about 11 p.m. on Friday.

The young man said he held his father responsible for his mother’s death a week earlier. His mother died from anorexia.

Officers said that the son suffered from epilepsy and claimed that his father abused the teenager’s 49-year-old mother and his younger brother.

According to police, the teenager stabbed his father four times. A prosecutor has charged him with murder.
