Two youngsters wrapped up in warm winter clothes yesterday at the Zappeion Hall in central Athens as temperatures dipped to 7C (44.6F) in the capital. Snow fell on Mount Parnitha, northwest of Athens, yesterday, while meteorologists said that the cold spell could also result in more snowfall today closer to the city center. Temperatures in the northern parts of the country yesterday were as low as -3C (26.6F).
