Scattered across the road...

VASILIS PSOMAS/ANA

Equipment from an ambulance was scattered across the road yesterday after the driver lost control of the vehicle at Nemea in the Peloponnese. The ambulance was transporting a patient with a heart problem from Kalamata, in southern Greece, to Athens. Authorities suspect that a blown tire caused the accident. The three people on board, including the driver, suffered slight injuries while the 69-year-old patient died.
