Greek actress Theodora Siarkou...

ALEXANDROS BELTES/ANA

Greek actress Theodora Siarkou, adorned as a High Priestess of antiquity, carries the newly lit Olympic Flame for next year’s Turin Winter Games during the cloud-marred lighting ceremony at Ancient Olympia yesterday. Along with her female followers in pleated white dresses and sandals, she led the traditional ceremony in the presence of Turin Games organizing chief Valentino Castellani and Greek Olympic Committee President Minos Kyriakou. The flame will be carried through Greece by 534 runners during the next 10 days before heading to Italy for a 11,300-km relay involving 10,000 torchbearers.
