The two outstretched arms...

Giorgos Fotiadis/Megapress

The two outstretched arms of a memorial to the assassinated left-wing MP and activist Grigoris Lambrakis protrude from heaps of flowers placed after an annual peace march in Thessaloniki yesterday. Peace protesters marched along the streets of the northern city in memory of Lambrakis, who was assassinated in Thessaloniki on May 22, 1963, shortly before the military junta came to power in Greece. Lambrakis’s son was among the protesters.
