Residents of neighborhoods around the Pedion tou Areos, one of Athens’s largest parks, march through the park on a tree-planting mission yesterday. Residents have been planting trees in the park to oppose the expansion of a sports club on the site, which they claim is illegal. A similar protest earlier this month resulted in violence and several arrests.
