University students affiliated with the Communist-backed PAME group burn an effigy representing the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in front of the Parliament building in central Athens, yesterday. The students’ protest followed an OECD conference in Lagonissi on Tuesday and Wednesday. Meanwhile, ruling New Democracy and opposition PASOK both expressed their support for the revision of Article 16 of the Greek Constitution to allow the operation of private, non-profit universities.
