Dozens of high school graduates are still in the dark about whether they will be able to go to university due to a mix-up by the Education Ministry that had not been cleared up yesterday.

The government has admitted that there was an error in connection with the students that have been admitted to military academies.

If some of those accepted at the military academies are assigned to other colleges, it could lead to others missing out altogether.

Despite repeated calls to the ministry from concerned parents, there was no indication yesterday when the mistake would be resolved.

However, ministry sources insisted that the number of students affected by the mix-up is relatively small.

Almost 70 percent of 100,000 students that sat the senior high school exams have secured a place at a university or technical college (TEI). Sources said only some 300 students are in limbo because of the confusion over places at military academies.
