University students marched through central Athens yesterday to protest the government’s plans to reform the state education system. Protesters object to plans that will permit the establishment of private colleges, arguing that this will harm state education. The government is also reportedly preparing to table in Parliament amendments to the Constitution that will enable it to recognize the diplomas of private colleges.
