Mansson rules in Crete Pro-Am

ANA

The Hersonissos Golf Course plays host every year to the only tournament in Greece held under the auspices of Europe’s Professional Golfers’ Association.

Sweden’s Fredrick Mansson was the winner of the Third Aegean Airlines Pro-Am international golf tournament held in Crete last weekend.

Representing Orebro Golf Club, Mansson led in both rounds and finished at 5 under par, far ahead of second-placed Morgan Olofsson of Sweden and Thanasis Karatzas of Greece at 1 par.

In the team event, there was a three-way tie at the top, but the trophy went to Morne Botha’s team, from South Africa.

Representing Woodhill Country Club, the Botha team finished at 23 under par, level with the teams of Fredrick Mansson and Neil Turley.

Held at the Hersonissos Golf Course, close to Iraklion in eastern Crete, the event on June 6 and 7 was again successful as it hosted players from around Greece and many other countries, with its prestige growing year after year.
