Fee for Greece's new state broadcaster set at 3 euros/month
The special tax for New Hellenic Radio Internet and Television (NERIT), the company designed to replace the now defunct state broadcaster ERT, has been set at 3 euros per month, it was announced on Wednesday.
The fee, which is down from the 4.24 euros paid to ERT, will also be tagged on to electricity bills.
The government said it expects to raise some 181 million euros from fees for 2014, of which 101 million will go toward paying NERIT’s operational costs.
The company will contribute 91.4 million euros to the primary budget surplus for 2014, the government said.
