French minister delegate expresses France's support for Greece
France’s minister delegate for French nationals abroad, Helene Conway-Mouret, on Friday emphasized Paris’s support and solidarity for Greece ahead of a scheduled visit to Athens by President Francois Hollande (photo) later this month.
In comments to reporters, Conway-Mouret expressed conviction that Greece’s position in the eurozone was secure.
Asked whether Paris would welcome the election of leftist SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras to prime minister, she avoided answering directly but said that the French leftist administration would welcome like-minded interlocutors.
She added that French authorities were ready to contribute know-how in the spheres of tax collection and public administration.
Labor Minister Yiannis Vroutsis announced on Thursday a new government initiative, to apply from January 2014, that will offer 75,000 new jobs for young people.
