A 63-year-old man whose body was discovered in Lake Plastira in Karditsa in northern Greece on New Year’s Day had committed suicide, authorities confirmed on Wednesday.
The unnamed man’s body was found in the lake by police after relatives called authorities following their discovery of a note expressing his intentions.
The body had a length of rope tied around the neck at the end of which was a rock. No reason was given as to why the 63-year-old killed himself.
