Prime minister to speak at IHT anniversary event in Paris

Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras is slated to be the keynote speaker on Thursday at an event marking the 125th anniversary of the International Herald Tribune in Paris.

The event is a public panel discussion in which world-renowned thought leaders join IHT editors and columnists to debate issues that challenge the world's future development and prosperity.

Titled «Restoring European Competitiveness on the World Stage,» the debate will focus on the euro crisis and investment, while Samaras will deliver the keynote address, focusing on Greece's efforts to reboot its economy.

The discussion panel includes Viviane Reding, vice-president of the European Commission, and Carl Bildt, Sweden's minister for foreign affairs.

Designer Philippe Starck will deliver the after-dinner keynote address.
