The union representing teachers in primary education (DOE) on Tuesday called on its members not to complete a questionnaire compiled by the Education Ministry as the first step in the process of evaluating the performance of educators across the country.
In a statement, the board of DOE dismissed the ministry's questionnaire, saying that it has its «own positions and proposals for the evaluation-assessment of the educational work being done, positions that are the result of mass procedures, scientific conferences and international precedent, and which are at the disposal of the relevant authorities.»
DOE further urged teacher to boycott the evaluation process, saying that «they will not tolerate any more ultimatums, pressure and degradation.» The union also suggested that if the evaluation proceeds, it is prepared to take «dynamic action.»
