Of those migrants, 264 were deported by the police's aliens unit after being found to be in Greece without legal residence documents. Most of the deported migranrs were from Pakistan (78) and Albania (64) with another 24 from Algeria, 16 from Georgia, 10 from China, seven from Iraq and smaller numbers, chiefly from other Asian, African and central European countries.

Another 301 migrants returned to their homelands last month as part of a voluntary repatriation program that is being organized in cooperation with the Greek branch of the International Organization for Migration. In total 10,118 migrants have been repatriated since last August as part of the IOM program which is subsidized by the European Union.
