An unidentified man on Wednesday took a death plunge off the roof of a hotel in the popular tourist district of Plaka in central Athens.
The man was not a guest at the hotel, according to police officers investigating the case, and appears to have walked into the hotel in order to gain access to the roof, which he jumped off at around 12.30 p.m.
Investigators also say that they found no identification papers in the the man's personal effects nor a note to suggest why he chose to take his own life.
