Suspects in firebombing of police in Exarchia released

Police in the central Athenian neighborhood of Exarchia on Tuesday released four men who were taken in for questioning following a firebomb attack on a riot police detail posted in the area.

The attack occurred in the early hours of Tuesday on Valtetsiou Street, when unknown assailants launched five Molotov cocktails at the officers.

No one was injured in the attack.

Clashes between riot police and left-wing extremists are frequent in this particular part of the capital.
