One man arrested, two injured in armed robbery at Athens metro station
One of the two armed robbers who attempted to hold up a money transfer store at Syngrou-Fix metro station in Athens has been arrested.
Two bystanders were injured in the robbery, when one of the suspects dropped his gun and it backfired. Authorities said that the two victims were a Greek pensioner and a man from Bangladesh.
Both men were taken to the hospital for treatment. No further details of the incident were available.
Syngrou-Fix station is one of the few on the metro network that contains stores. Crimes are very rare on the Athens metro.
