Ex-minister to face probe over false declaration, wife's savings in Switzerland
Former Public Order Minister Giorgos Voulgarakis is to face a judicial probe after allegedly failing to declare money in a Swiss bank account to tax authorities in Greece.
It emerged late on Wednesday that a parliamentary committee decided that Voulgarakis had failed to enter on his derivation of wealth (pothen esches) form substantial savings that his wife had deposited in Switzerland.
The affair came to light as the ex-minister's spouse appeared on the Lagarde list of depositors at the Geneva branch of HSBC.
The committee is due to rule next week on the case of ex-Defense Minister Yiannos Papantoniou, whose wife was also on the Lagarde list.
