Two Pakistani men in hospital after attack

Two Pakistani nationals were being treated for serious injuries on Tuesday at a hospital in Agrinio, western Greece, after their home was attacked late on Monday night by a mob.

According to local media reports, around 10 men tossed a smoke bomb through the window of the house in which three Pakistani men were staying late on Monday in the suburb of Aghia Triada Panetoliou in the town of Agrinio. The assailants proceeded to brutally attack the three men as they ran out of the house trying to escape the smoke, inflicting serious injuries on two of the three residents.

Police are investigating the attack, which bears similarities to other assaults around the country against migrants over the past few months that are believed to be racially motivated.
