Municipal workers to strike Wednesday and Thursday
Members of the union representing the municipal employees’ union, POE-OTA, are to hold a 48-hour strike on Wednesday and Thursday, demanding legislation that guarantees their jobs and the disbursement of back pay.
The walkout will disrupt a range of municipal social services including garbage collection.
Protesters are scheduled to launch their action with a rally at 10 a.m. in Klafthmonos Square in central Athens.
