Man, 43, charged with raping, kidnapping 16-year-old

Police in Patra, western Greece, on Wednesday arrested a 43-year-old man over charges of raping and kidnapping a 16-year-old girl.

According to local media, the man met with the 16-year-old for coffee before taking her to his house, located in Zarouchleika, where her allegedly raped her and held her against her will.

The girls family alerted local authorities of her disappearance on Sunday.

The alleged victim reportedly managed to escape from her captor's residence late Tuesday.
